The private University is a subsidiary company of Mordecai Investment Group (Pty) Limited registered in Namibia recommended for the development of a specialized University called Windhoek Medical University [WMU] Pty Limited. This specialized Technical and Vocational Medical University would ideally admit its students globally, and would aim to revolutionize the delivery of healthcare services through the integration of advanced technology, transform the quality and efficiency of regional health care delivery, strengthen the university's region-wide, bioscience economic development, and serve as an international magnet for innovation, research, and scholarship along international institutional collaborations.

Therefore, Mordecai Investment Group (Pty) Limited, would like to introduce to you the Namibia’s first ever privately owned Medical Training and Teaching Hospital project called Windhoek Medical University which is being established at Khomas Grove Mall, Khomasdal in Windhoek of Namibia. WMU has opened its doors to students for July-August 2022 intake with phase one training programs. The installation of necessary equipment and setup in lecture rooms, laboratories, library, administration, canteen, student and staff facilities is currently implemented. To rationalize the vision, the Local authorities in consultation with MIG, will be developing a 500 patient-bed Teaching Hospital with all the specialized clinical departments in line with the university to facilitate clinical training of the trainees. The MOHSS has a target of 7000 health workers to be trained in various fields such as General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, Enrolled Nurses, Medical Engineers and Medical Technicians alike (Road Map (2014)).

This development will increase the output of critical and essential trained health staff. This will go a long way to the realization of the Namibian Health Sector’s National Vision of providing equitable access to quality health care as close to the family as possible and ultimately improve the health status of all Namibians.

To flag off the ship, promoters of the Windhoek Medical University being developed are highly experienced as health trainers, practitioners, health system specialists, entrepreneurs and construction specialists. Collectively, they possess a vast health and education, business and governance experience, thus forming the most concentrated reservoir of health architecture and medical education knowledge in the country. This ensures and guarantees high quality of professionalism through teaching and research activities.

This has pushed the WMU bar upwards by focusing on relevant training programs in line with developments of technologies and techniques requirements in Namibia. It’s from such background that the Board of Directors established an external support to secure medical and allied health programs (Curriculum) from reputable and well-established Universities outside the country and abroad via signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for teaching, training, staff and students exchange.
