Entry requirements:

A National School Leaving Certificate for the student’s country of origin (or equivalent) plus a recognised English Language qualification if foreigner.

School/Unit responsible for the parenting of students and program: WMU Pathways Centre (Foundation Year). This programme will enable all our graduates to be registered with HPCNA upon graduation (Degree or Diploma) as it meets the basic registration requirements.

Program specification:

The Medical Foundation Year – Science and Healthcare Route program offers an opportunity to those Medical students who have the potential and motivation to succeed, but who do not yet have the formal qualifications required for entry to level 1 of WMU sciencerelated or healthcare-related undergraduate degree program. It is a one-year foundation year program taught at National Qualification Framework (NQF) level 3. The program provides a firm grounding in the subjects required for the students’ intended undergraduate degree programs. Those who successfully complete are admitted to one of a wide range of science-related or healthcare-related undergraduate degree programs or diploma offered by the University.
