Our Medical Education and Skills Centre campus in Windhoek houses classrooms, seminar rooms, quiet study areas and a common room where you can meet other students to work or relax. We have excellent facilities across University including superb learning materials and a virtual learning resource that is used extensively on all courses.
University level education can be expensive. Our tuition fees will be substantially lower than most universities, and, if you live locally you can stay at home while you study, save on costs and remain close to family and friends. Students and faculty will be expected to adhere to academic honesty, the highest ethical standards, and professional conduct in all processes and practices. It is reasonable that the teaching and learning environments will be open to diverse opinions and voices and that the same course content can be presented in multiple ways in order to achieve the same outcome goals. Teaching and learning styles at WMU may differ and it is not unexpected that differences in styles, opinions, and approaches may occur. - Concurrently, it is important that faculty and instructional team members realize their responsibility to the university to make their students understand that their expression does not represent the opinions of WMU.
- The thorough discussion of topics from diverse perspectives within the faculty and instructional team members’ subject areas is encouraged. However, the discussion of controversial subject matter outside of each faculty and instructional team member’s area of expertise is strongly discouraged within courses.
- Noting that debate is at the heart of academic freedom, faculty and instructional team members have a particular obligation to promote conditions of free inquiry and to further public understanding of academic freedom.
- WMU expects its faculty and instructional team members to maintain University high standards of professional conduct in all communications with students at all times.
